Day 2-
Day 2 was preeettttyyy boring actually. Except when we got to do archery it was cool even though after 32 tries I didn't hit the board :O. We also got to cook dinner which was hamburgers and I got transferred from Cooking to Dishes...lucky me! It was a rush trying to do everything but we ended up getting it done. At the end of the day the experience was cool. It was tiring so Lizi, Relfie and I didn't join in with the night program much. We went to bed pretty early too, but it was an A OK day.

Accelerate Camp- Day 1
Day 1-
I arrived at school at 8.15am a bit late but yeah. We were all to go into the library to have a meeting/gathering to talk about what was to be done before we got on the bus. Mrs Schnell hosted the meeting talking about what she expected from us and that was Respect and Managing-Self. We were all called from a role and expected to take a day pack with us but only if you were going to Waimarino or The Ropes Course. I was going to the ropes course and I didn't know about the day pack quickly rushing to my luggage I snatched all I needed for the day. Then I pulled my suitcase to the bus and they heaved it on. All gathering in front of the bus we were called on and spent a long 1 1/2 hour trip to the Adventure Park. When we arrived the bus tried to turn around but got stuck (haha...sorry bus driver :D) but we managed to get it turned around. We all walked out and Tayla A a.k.a Gingafied and Lizi were laughing really loud. We went into the park and had a kayak lesson the instructor was really weird cause he kept saying "Wicked Awesome" but my highlight was going down the hydro-slide I went "Wee, jump, fly, splash" but it definately was WICKED AWESOME. We finished at Waimarino and went to the lodge had a look around waited for dinner which was Nachos and Spiders with Crepe's for pudding. It was definately a WICKED AWESOME day

Persistance

I persisted by training better and better at hockey in year 4 for our field days and then when I finally thought I couldnt do anymore I thought to myself "Do this for your team Havana" and then I persisted through the whole thing and we won two thirds of our games!
John Key & Persistance
John Key persisted by acknowledging that even though he was in the lower ranks of parliment he could get to the top and so by persisting he became prime minister. Congrats JK!!

CHILD LABOUR

In Room 1 this term we are studying about CHILD LABOUR.
CHILD LABOUR is more common than you think it is! It can be Factory working, mining, prostitution, argiculture and much more. You may think who cares? But this is a serious topic. Children who do CHILD LABOUR can start from the age 5 up to 14 years old. Imagine your little 8 year old brother mining in iron mines in India!! Countries that do have high CHILD LABOUR rates are India, Vietnam, Morocco, Latin America and many more countries. Between 40 and 50 percent of all slave workers are children and 1.2 million of those children have been tarfficked (sold or bought). The highest percentage of CHILD LABOUR is in sub-saharan Africa where 1 3rd of the children aged 14 and under are under the CHILD LABOUR force.
